Innovative Merchant Solutions - Credit Card Processing Review from Taylors, South Carolina

I signed up with INTUIT as a credit card processor. Apparently they are not the actual processor. They contracted out the actual merchant services to A company called INNOVATIVE MERCHANT SERVICES. Well when a customer disputed a $700 charge they charged my account but there was not enough money in my account. They never really investigated the dispute and ignored all of my evidence. They then posted a collection on my credit report. I am glad I switched processors.

Hidden Fees and charges, no cancelation options, total ripoff

Innovative Merchant Solutions is a total rip off; I cancelled my account and still received charges from them. I refuse to pay for services I do not use. They are charge hidden service fees over $60.00 per month. Very bad experience, do not do business with Innovative Merchant Solutions. My experience with them was far from satisfactory. The business, did not do any credit cards transactions so I never had any charges processed through Innovative Merchants. I was being charged a monthly fee, plus in December, an additional $75 was assessed as an annual maintenance fee. One wonders what they were maintaining considering that no credit card charges were being processed by them. Then they charged me a cacellation fee

Innovative Merchant Solutions (Intuit)

Updated by user Jan 06, 2012

Update: It seems one person says one thing and another says something else. First person i spoke to said I would owe the $295 if I ever left and \"should have read what I signed\" the second person said \"I will not be charged.

Its just a deposit that will be refunded when the terminal is returned.\" Go figure. I could understand the deposit. that sounds reasonable enough. But why are they not telling there own staff to clarify and explain better?

I would still advise against this company. Any company that it takes two days just to get to speak to a rep who then gives me the wrong info is not worth my time

Original review Dec 06, 2011
After 2 days of being on hold (literally) I got to speak to someone who confirmed the online posts that they charge $295.00 to terminate. Its ongoing and is not just 'early' termination either. This was never pointed out by their rep when i signed. Its apparently in the contract, and in a perfect world I would have seen that. But when someone is looking over your shoulder as you sign you tend not to read every small print of a massive contract. You just figure that the rep would have mentioned it. and THAT is what they rely on.

I got tricked too and I know I am not the only one. I cancelled the service back in 2007, until today they still report me to the credit bureau.

It is still impacting my personal credit. This is such a scam. They do not disclose this very important piece of information. They tricked you into sign the contract.

This is unlawful.

We should all get together and start a class action lawsuit. This is affecting my credit for way too long and it has to stop.

this gets crazier with each week. Now I have spoken to 6 different 'account specialists' and each one has contradicted the last one.

Each one says its been waived now, and the next one I speak to says It hasnt. I am still no clearer on if I will be charged the $295 leaving fee. unbelievable. P.s.

The hold times are the same. Monday, Friday 8:00 am or 8:00pm you will never get through without being on hold 20 minutes

INNOVATIVE MERCHANT SOLUTIONS HAHAHAHA!!!!

I am a small business owner/ operator out of Woodstock il. I was kicking around accepting credit cards what a mistake that was. the sales rep for this company was dishonest. He insisted that there was no charge if we didn't activate and he got his commission either way(what he meant was he will get our money either way). after the first charge i called to see what was going on this person said no prob will reverse fee and close acct for no charge because no activate(I never opened an acct or authorised in first place). Needless to say i haven't seen any of my money back in fact they have charged me twice more. This company has had nothing to offer but headache and theft,oh and the worst customer service in history on hold transfer on hold transfer rude ECT. I know I am not the first to be taken by these people. So my question to you is how long do hardworking honest people let people make a living off our money we never said they could take. I work very hard to raise my family and i don't appreciate being stolen from. These people are stealing on a huge corporate level and how are we as Small business owners/ individuals supposed to take our money back. Between the banks and corporate lawyers our money is locked away. something needs to be done anyone with same issue we all can get together and be more affective in saying STOP TAKING MONEY THAT ISNT YOURS. My store is Blues Inspired contact me on facebook maybe we wont get our money back but we can sure stop it from happening to your friends, family, or just anyone NO ONE deserves this mess!!! GOD BLESS ALL YOU HONEST PEOPLE LEFT IN THE WORLD!!! GOD HAVE MERCY ON THE REST!!

IMS merchant services

My horrible experiences with IMS I opened a store(women's boutique) in June 2009, I was new to this country.I needed a merchant service for the store in order to charge credit card. I called the IMS company, the sales person told me they charge only 0.5% for the credit card services, and the machine cost over $3000, they can lease it to me. Also they said will give me a $50 gas card for free. So I thought it's good deal, they didn't mention about other fees at all-- I compared with other companies' 2-3% fee then decided to signed the contract. My store is doing well till May 2010, I recieved bills from IMS every month, but I only paid attention to the total amount, never look through everything in detail(cus it's a long list),plus my English is not good. But one day, one of my friend came to my store and asked me about the machine--I said it cost over $3000(actually I have to pay $66 every month for 4 years), he was surprised and told me that machine only cost $200, and I went to the other stores too and found the same machine everywhere, i asked them the cost, they all said it's around $200. I began to feel I was cheated by them, so I called the company--it took me a long time to get in touch with someone, they gave me the number to call the leasing company, I called the leasing company, they said they just helped IMS to lease the machine and told me if I call IMS they would tell me the same thing. I began to take a deep look at my bill--I found out they charged me a lot of things that I never knew they would, for example, they charge me $19.95 for a package service(which I had no idea what's about), they charged capture fee for $7 every month too, plus the main charge is Inter-CHG fee, which I didn't know either why and how they charged that. I calculated my fees every month, it's almost 5% of my total credit card charges for sales, which is the highest in the industry. I spent several days trying to reach someone in IMS who can give me an answer, in the beginning they said would return my call within 48 hours--but they didn't. I went out of the country for two weeks and found they called me after three days I called. Finally after another several times of trying, I got in touch with someone. I asked about the Inter-Chg fee, they said it's around 1.29%--3.4% of every transaction; For the service package fee, it's the service to send me the paper for the machine--I never knew that and never order anything from the company! For the capture fee, it's the fee for machine settlement. I found a bill in November--there is a plat Security-Dial ANN, they charged another $90 without telling me anything, they said it's an annul fee, but in my January's bill, they charged me again for another almost $100 for the yearly charge. Since every charge was taken from my account automatically, i couldn't control how much they charge or couldn't do anything if I have doubts. When I called the company in January, they told me to fax to them to cancel the service package fee for Feburary, I did fax to them on Jan 26th, but I recieved a bill today(March 7th), they still charged me the service package fee for $19.95. I already stopped using the machine since Jan 30th, I no longer run the business anymore--but I still have to pay the $69 leasing fee every month for the machine which is worth only $200 for the next two and half years. From all the experience I had with this company, I felt it's unfair for small business owners to get into this trap, I need help! (By the way, they never sent me the $50 free gas card as they promised to). Please give me suggestions what should I do. I don't know how many other business owners are suffering from the same experiences as I did.

Charged fees on free account - delaying refund

This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I am more and more convinced they are operating some kind of scam. Through my use of Intuit Quickbooks I was referred to an offer to get a free merchant account called Intuit GoPayment that turns out to be run by this company which is a division of Intuit. The offer (through an Intuit website) was for a no-monthly-fee merchant account with a free card reader to use with iPhone. The processing fees were competitive and it seemed to be a good deal. I signed up and promptly got a charge of $60 on my bank account. After numerous calls wherein their people professed to no knowledge of the web offer I got to a supervisor who, when informed I had a copy of the web page including the offer and small print, admitted they had had problems with the launch of the offer and refunded the fee and sent me my free reader (which was something else they hadn't done). The next month I was again charged a fee - this time stated as my monthly merchant fee. I called and emailed numerous times and was eventually told they had made a mistake and processed my account as a full merchant account. They closed the account and promised to refund the fees charged. This was six weeks ago and I still have no refund after numerous calls and emails. DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY Innovative Merchant Solutions or Inuit GoPayment. Either they are so poorly organized they don't have a clue what they are doing or they are banking on people not noticing the fees they apply to free accounts. Either way IMHO they are not to be trusted with any financial arrangement.

Avoid Innovative Merchants

If you are in the market for a credit card processing company, I would strongly suggest that you avoid Innovative Merchants. My experience with them was far from satisfactory. The online business which I started never took off, so I never had any charges processed through Innovative Merchants. I was being charged a monthly fee, plus in December, an additional $75 was assessed as an annual maintenance fee. One wonders what they were maintaining considering that no credit card charges were being processed by them. At that time, I notified them that I was closing my account. At no point did anyone tell me that I would be charged $295 for closing the account. In early January I noticed a charge from them for $295 directly deducted from my checking account. When I phoned the customer service department, I was told that it was a closing fee and that it had been stated in the application which I had submitted one year ago. The two customer service people I spoke with were very rude and told me I had no recourse for reversing the charge. Again, it makes you wonder what they could possibly have done to warrant a charge of $295. I then submitted a complaint through the Better Business Bureau, which achieved nothing. I can only warn other people who may be considering dealing with this company to think twice about it as it is not a reputable company.

i am going through the same thing, when i call to close account they told me i will have to pay $540, termination fee, and also have to send my wireless machine back, which i bought it from them for $250 whn i opened the account.. i spoke to someone who also had an account with thm, told me tht even after paying termination fee, he recieved a call from collection office tht he owes $300 for this company for some odd charges...

so pls avoid this comapany even if they offer some kind of free service.. i know i am not paying them anything, they can do whtever they want

iriswebb

I am having the exact same problem. I hope no one ever gets caught by them to begin with. I will be forced to also pay this termination fee when, for the last 2 years, I haven't had any processing done....yet, like you, they take their monthly amount.

STAY AWAY FROM INNOVATIVE MERCHANT SERVICE COMPANY, THEY ARE LIER'S !!!

As small business owner, I used them as my merchant account provider. They have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They never returned my phone calls, never emailed me back, whatever they promise before you sign up its a lie. Please stay away from Innovative Merchant Services, because of them I lost lots of money and to this day NOBODY returned my call or try to get that resolved. I emailed them all the proofs showing that its their fault for my missing money, and never heard from them ever again!!! Going now to BBB website to fill out another complaint, and I wont stop 'till they realize that they should have not done this to serious business owners!!!

Stole money from me

Innovate Merchant Solutions has 2000 dollars from a stolen machine that wasn't batched and refuses to give me my money. I will be taking them to court! On top of that, they charged me fees after I went bankrupt and faxed them their required paper work saying I was out of business. They just claimed they never received it and continued to send me bills for years. If you want to take credit cards, I wouldn't go with this company. They have horrible service and inflated fees. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere Good luck with this company, I faxed and sent certified letters -- they claim that they never received any of them.

Innovative Merchant Solutions - Fraud-Unauthorized Charges

In January 2009 I was considering starting my own business and attended an e-commerce business seminar held by a company called Auction Teacher. Several hundred people were in attendance. At the end of the seminar a business package was offered to help start and develop an e-commerce web site. Included in the package was the Auction Teacher e-commerce website with help to develop and maintain the site, also in the package was an application to obtain a merchant account, and a telephone system. After a month I realized that the Auction Teacher setup would not work for me since their software was based on PC/Microsoft Windows computers and I use Macintosh computers. I contacted Auction Teacher and they canceled my service and gave me a refund. No business was created or conducted. For the time I gave up on the idea of having my own business. About four months later I started receiving charges on my bank account from Innovative Merchant Solutions. I never received any notification that my application for a merchant account had been approved. I contacted Innovative Merchant Solutions and informed them that the charges on my account had surprised me since I had never been informed about my application approval nor had I given them any financial information or authorized any charges to my bank account. The representative I spoke with said his name was Mark, and he looked up the account and said he would cancel it for me and refund the charges. However, over the next couple of months the charges continued. I again contacted Innovative and this time spoke with a man named Leo. I asked Leo his last name and was told that for security purposes and company policy that he couldn't give me his last name. I informed Leo of my earlier conversation with Mark. Leo indicated that there were no notes in my record of the conversation. He said he could cancel the account but there was an account termination fee that I had to pay. This is the first time anyone mentioned to me a cancellation fee. Back in January when I signed up for the business package with Auction Teacher no mention was ever made of any termination fee. Leo said he would have to transfer me to someone else to discuss the termination fee. Leo then transfered my call to a woman named Melissa. I spoke with Melissa and again related the entire story, I also asked her for her last name and was given the same response as Leo regarding giving out last names. She told me I needed to write a letter of cancelation and either mail it or fax it to her. I did this. She also mentioned the charges to my account would be refunded and that the account termination fee would be waived. Some charges were refunded to my account. However the charges to my bank account continued for a few more months. I informed my bank of the entire situation and they reversed the charges and put a stop on my account to any future charges from Innovative Merchant Solutions. Finally mid-year 2009 it appeared that everything was cleared up and taken care of with regards to dealing with Innovative Merchant Solutions. Fast forward to one year later, here it is mid-year 2010 and I started receiving calls from Innovative that I owed them for the cancellation fee and charges that they tried to bill to my bank account. Does this company not know what goes on within it's walls? I've been contacted three times over the last few weeks by three different people about paying the cancellation fee and other charges. Each time I've related the story previously given. I've been told that there is no information in my account regarding previous contacts or having any fees waived. And now they are threatening legal action. I received a letter from someone named Al Sherman who lists the title Litigation Manager under his name. In conclusion, I've been charged for services NOT received. Innovative Merchant Solutions Never informed me that my application for a merchant account had been approved. They charged and removed funds from my bank account without authorization, I never gave them my bank account information. How they managed to obtain my bank account information and levy charges without authorization appears to me to be fraudulent and criminal. Do not use them! If you need a merchant account go to your local bank they will offer service superior to Innovative. Wells Fargo, Bank of America, US Bank, Chase, others; none of whom have any account termination fees. All who do business in a straight forward business manner.

It Seems my Case is almost just as bad. I finally Decided to look into this $30 withdraw that has been being taken out of my account since April 2010.

I had no idea what it was and tried to get help in August 2010, but my band was no help. So Today; over a Year Later (As these people claimed I made an account on Feb. 22 2010) I have been getting charged Fees. They had all my information, yet I had never heard of these people.

I had no job and wasn't able to pay for it. It has caused me to Date about 3,000 in overdraft Fee's with Chase Bank.

I was confused as ever because I never started an account with these people, nore did I ever want to start a business as I had no money and wasn't working at the time. :?

Guest

I also have had nothing but headaches and problems with Innovative Solutions. I've only been with them for approximately 6 months!

I've spent MORE money with overdraft fees due to Innovative Solutions's so-called "gliches" and "accidental" premature withdrawls to my business account, that I would have actually been better off not selling my customers their products in the first place!

I smell a Class Action lawsuit!

Thank the Lord I saved all my bank statements. This Al Sherman character contacted me as well.

Compromised my SS#, Lost account info

Innovative Merchant Services cannot be trusted. The background on this is we had a charge come through that we thought was fraudulent. Because of this, we refunded the payment and cancelled the transaction. A week after we refunded the payment, Innovative attempted to charge our account a SECOND time for this charge. They billed an old bank account that had been out of service for many years rather than the account they had been depositing funds into for YEARS. It turns out that Innovative managed to LOSE our current account information (after all these years of depositing into that account) - so they put a hold on all our funds and start demanding paperwork to restore the account information. We supply all of this, INCLUDING my personal social security number. They then manage to LOSE all this paperwork, putting me at risk of identity theft - and so far have refused to release almost a month's worth of credit card charges. I would look elsewhere if you are considering a credit card processor. If a financial institution cannot keep track of it's own accounts, and cannot keep your information protected - it is time to go elsewhere.
